Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA) — Last updated: 9 October 2026

1. Introduction

This manual explains how to request access to records held by Maltech Africa Business Consultancy & Advisory Services (Reg. No. 2022/541785/07), trading as Maltech-Africa, a registered Trust and Company Service Provider (TCSP ID 65232). It is published in terms of section 51 of PAIA.

4. Records available without a request

The information published on this website, including service descriptions, guides, prices and contact details.

5. Records held under other legislation

We keep records required by legislation that applies to us, including the Companies Act 71 of 2008, the Financial Intelligence Centre Act 38 of 2001, the Income Tax Act 58 of 1962, the Value-Added Tax Act 89 of 1991 (as it applies to our clients' records), the Basic Conditions of Employment Act 75 of 1997 and the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013.

6. Categories of records we hold

  • Company records: incorporation documents, registers, resolutions and governance records.
  • Client records: identity and address documents, company documents, application files and correspondence.
  • Financial records: invoices, receipts, bank records and tax records.
  • Employment records, where applicable.
  • Marketing and website records: enquiries, newsletter lists and website analytics.

Access to some records may be refused on the grounds PAIA allows, such as protecting a third party's privacy or confidential commercial information.

7. Processing of personal information (POPIA)

  • Purpose: delivering company registration, compliance and facilitation services, meeting our legal obligations and running our business.
  • Categories of data subjects: clients, prospective clients, directors, shareholders, employees, service providers.
  • Categories of information: names, contact details, identity and passport numbers, addresses, company and tax information, beneficial ownership details and payment information.
  • Recipients: CIPC, SARS, the Department of Home Affairs, the Department of Employment and Labour, DTIC, banks and service providers needed to complete your matter.
  • Cross-border transfers: information may be transferred to Zimbabwe or other countries where a service requires it, subject to POPIA's protections.
  • Security: we apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards. See our Privacy Policy for more.

8. How to request a record

Complete the prescribed request form (available on the Information Regulator's website) and send it to the Information Officer at the email or address above. Identify the record, state the form of access you want, give a return address, and say which right you are exercising. We will respond within the periods PAIA sets, and a prescribed request fee and access fees may apply.

It is available on this website and from our office on request, and we update it when our practices change.
